Blue Cheese Gnocchi from Social Kitchen

Here in New Plymouth we are lucky enough to have a new restaurant called Social Kitchen, they use a Mibrasa charcoal oven, the food is Argentinean inspired and absolutely outstanding.  Since they have opened I have dined several times and every time it’s been consistently enjoyable.  All of the staff make you feel at home and the food is simply devine, you cannot go wrong! Shared dining is relatively new to Taranaki but people are digging it and Social Kitchen has quickly become a favourite for many, myself included!

Some of my standout favourites are:

  3. Peel and put through a potato ricer
  4. Season the potato with salt and pepper
  5. Mix together with the egg yolk and flour until just combined (do not overmix)
  6. Dust bench with a little rice flour and roll/form dough into a ball
  7. Cut off pieces of the dough and roll out into sausages 2cms wide
  8. Cut sausage into 3cm lengths
  9. Store on a rice floured tray in the fridge until required or can be free flow frozen and cooked from freezer
